Hey, Frontline, this is Landon Ball and you’ve landed on my “Song/Artist of the Week” page.
Each week I will highlight a Christian song and Christian artist. I hope you’ll visit my page every week to see who I’ve picked and to give a listen and/or a watch.
For this week’s song I picked “Burn us up” by the band Shane & Shane. This song was written based on the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The bad king Nebuchadnezzar insisted that when a song played, that everyone was to bow a Statue. If you did not then you would be burned in a fire. When the music played, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, were still standing. So as kind Nebuchadnezzar did as he promised and threw them in the fire. As they were in the fire, a fourth person appeared in the fire. Nebuchadnezzar told them to come out and when they did, they did not smell like smoke, and not a single hair on their body was burnt. Shane & Shane wrote this song to represent the faith that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego all showed on this day. “Even if god does not save us, we will still burn”
