“The Rebuilder of Broken Lives”

I’m looking forward to Sunday as we focus on a very familiar story from the book of Luke. In chapter 15 is where we find the story of the Prodigal Son.

There’s a reason the story of the Prodigal Son is universally loved. It’s because it’s so relatable. Here’s what I mean by that – all of us have left the Father. In some way, we’ve all chosen to go our own way, thinking we know better than God.

It’s also relatable because we’re all loved by God. No matter what we’ve done or how far we’ve fallen, God still loves us and is waiting for us to come home.

Finally, the story is relatable because it reminds us, we can all return to the father. No matter who we are or where we find ourselves, God calls us to come back to Him. Three universal truths – we’ve all left the Father, we’re all loved by the Father, and we can all return to the Father.

I hope you’ll take the time to read this beloved story in Luke 15:11-20. As you do, consider the grace and mercy God has shown you, even when you’ve pulled away from Him. This would be a good Sunday to invite a friend who needs to hear God’s call to “Come Home!”
