“The Man Who Tried to Kill Christmas”

As we enter the Advent season, our Sunday morning messages will focus on various members of the “cast of Christmas.”

This coming Sunday, I’ll be working out of Matthew 2:1-18. I hope you’ll find some time to sit down and read that story a couple of times before we gather on Sunday. Before you read the passage, pray and ask God to reveal Himself and His truth to you.

On your second reading, consider asking yourself the questions below and write down your responses.

  • Where do I see God in His glory?
  • Where do I see evidences of fallen humanity?
  • Where is a command God wants me to obey?
  • Where is a promise God wants me to claim?
  • Where is a sin God wants me to avoid?
  • Where is an example God wants me to follow or to not follow?

Christmas reminds us there is only one King, and we’re not him. Jesus came for the throne of our lives, and He will not share it with another.

With Advent expectations,
