“Six Signs You Need to Return to God”

I pray you’ve had a good week!

This Sunday we start a new, four-week sermon series that will take us to Easter Sunday. It’s a series we’re calling RETURN! It is designed to inspire all of us to return to a passionate pursuit of God.

Sunday’s message comes from Jonah 1:1-5 where we discover six signs that Jonah’s needed to return to God. As you read the text, see if you can find some of those signs.

The Word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 “Get up and go to the large city of Nineveh, and preach against it. For their sin has come up before Me.” 3 But Jonah ran away from the Lord going toward Tarshish. He went down to Joppa and found a ship which was going to Tarshish. Jonah paid money, and got on the ship to go with them, to get away from the Lord. 4 Then the Lord sent a powerful wind upon the sea, and there was such a big storm that the ship was about to break up. 5 The sailors became afraid, and every man cried to his god. They threw the things that were in the ship into the sea so that it would not be so heavy. But Jonah had gone below in the ship and had lain down and fallen asleep. (Jonah 1:1-5)

Sunday will also bring us the opportunity to hear a special guest share about how a recent life challenge inspired them to return to God. In addition to praying for our special guest, also pray for Pastor Brandon and our worship team and our children’s ministry staff.

Finally, in addition to our normal Missionary Offering, we’ll also taking a special offering to buy much needed supplies for some of the Ukrainian refugees escaping into Romania. More information will be shared by our mission team on Sunday.

I look forward to seeing on Sunday!
