“A Final Word”

For the past seven weeks we’ve examined several major themes from the New Testament book of 1st Peter. We’ve discovered that our blessings from God greatly far outweigh our present burdens, and that fact should change the way we live each day. We’ve heard the challenge to grow in holiness, to appropriately fear God, and to deeply love other believers. We’ve also heard God’s call to submit to governing authorities, to our employers, to unbelieving husbands, and to one another. We do this unto the Lord so our lives can help influence unbelievers towards Christ.

We’ve also discovered that we bless our church when we walk in unity, extend grace, show sympathy, love as Christ loves us, display a tender heart, and maintain a humble attitude. We’ve also heard Christ’s call to mirror His attitude towards suffering, sin, the lost, the return of Jesus Christ, and our brothers and sisters in the church.

Sunday’s message will cover 1 Peter 5:1-9. I hope you’ll take the time to read it from your copy of Scripture before Sunday. As Peter brings his letter to a close, he returns to a familiar theme. I wonder if you can identify what captured Peter’s heart as he shares a final word with his readers?

Remember we move to one service this week.

I hope to see you at 9:30 AM!
