“As For Us”
This week we are finishing our study of 1 and 2 Thessalonians. As we have seen over the past few weeks, this was a faithful, young church that was struggling with persecution and confusion. In these two letters, Paul reminds them of the truth that he, Silas, and Timothy shared with them in person.
Last week, Pastor Jamie beautifully showed us how Paul, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, reminded them and us of things to come before the Lord returns, as well as when He returns. One of Paul’s major concerns was that the Thessalonians had bought into some lies and were confused about the future – the “there and then” – but they were also confused about the present – the “here and now”.
I hope that you will join us this Sunday as we look at how Paul ended his letters to the Thessalonians with three things in which they should intentionally persist as they awaited the Lord’s return. It won’t be a surprise that you and I should be persisting in these same things today as we await the return of Jesus.
Intentionally awaiting His return with you,
Tiger Gordon
