Affectionate Care and Fervent Prayer
I hope you’re appreciating our current sermon series out of Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians.
In week one, we focused on how the Gospel works – it is received into our lives, it redirects our lives, it rings out from our lives. Last week Tiger pointed out how Paul asked the Thessalonians to remember how he, Titus, and Timothy acted when they were in Thessalonica – they were childlike in faith, nurturing like a mother, and encouraging like a father.
This coming Sunday we’ll dive into chapter three and highlight Paul’s leadership style. Specifically, we’ll concentrate on his affectionate care and his fervent prayer for the young believers in this brand new church. Sunday’s message will have something to say to anyone who exercises influence in the life of another be they a parent, a grandparent, a spouse, a teacher, a preacher, a ministry leader, a deacon, or an elder.
I hope you can join us on Sunday and that you’ll take the time to read 1 Thessalonians 3 several times before we gather for corporate worship.
With gratitude,
pastor jamie
