How the Gospel Works

I’ve done a lot of flying over the years and I find it interesting how passengers treat the pre-flight safety message. When you think about it, that message is vital, even a matter of life and death, but nobody is listening.

Contrast that with the message of the flight attendant who’s trying to get a passenger to give up their seat to another because they’ve overbooked the flight. At first, nobody volunteers, but when they start offering round-trip tickets to anywhere, along with growing sums of cash, it seems everyone on the plane is on the edge of their seats trying to hear the message.

As a church, how is the world responding to our message? As a follower of Jesus, how are people responding to your message? Is anyone listening?

I hope you can be with us on Sunday as we launch a new 8-week series on Paul’s two letters to the Thessalonians. To better prepare for Sunday, I encourage you to prayerfully read 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10 a couple of times.

Changed by the Gospel,
