“What the Enemy Wants”

Who is this enemy? The Bible tells us our enemy is Satan, whose name means “adversary.” He is also referred to as “the destroyer,” “the father of lies,” “the prince of this world,” “the god of this age” “the evil one,” and the “slanderer.”

In Scripture, he is likened to a dragon, a lion, and as we’ll see on Sunday, a serpent. Satan’s mission is to destroy God’s mission, which is to save people and use them for His glory. John 10:10 notes three of Satan’s tactics to accomplish his mission – to kill, to steal, and to destroy.

To better prepare yourself for Sunday’s message, please prayerfully read through Genesis 3:1-5. As you do, you’ll notice four things the enemy wants. He wants us to doubt God’s Word, question God’s goodness, resist God’s authority, and reject God’s purposes.

I hope to see you Sunday!
