“Empowered to Witness”

I’m so excited about our new series from the book of Acts. If you weren’t here last week, I’d encourage you to listen to last week’s message (on the website) which provided a helpful foundation for what’s to come over the next five weeks.

This coming Sunday, Brent Doolin will be sharing a message from Acts 1:6-8. His message will remind all of us that we’ve been empowered by the Holy Spirit to be witnesses for Christ in both word and deed. Witnesses that show and tell others about Jesus as we journey through life.

So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?” ⁷ He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. ⁸ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere — in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Take the time to prayerfully ponder Acts 1:6-8 before you hit the church parking lot on Sunday. As you do, thank God for giving you the Holy Spirit and surrender yourself anew to His leading in your life.
