If you’re like me the minute you read that title you started singing that lilting tune from The King and I! In thinking about Sunday’s message, I began reminiscing about how Sarah and I got to know each other. It all started in late 1977 and early 1978. We were like every other couple that has ever fallen in love – we spent nearly every waking hour together that we could. If I was singing at a wedding guess what? Sarah went with me. If I was giving a concert in eastern Colorado guess what? Yep, Sarah went with me. If the Broncos were playing on TV guess what? Yep, we were together watching them. If Sarah and her sisters were going skiing, guess what? Yep, I was crashing the party and headed for the slopes in their 1970 Chevy Impala station wagon! Whoa! What a ride! When you want to know somebody you hang out with them. You go where they go and you spend hours talking with them. You ask them questions in order to find out who they are and what makes them tick! In many ways, that’s how we get to know the Holy Spirit. We pursue a daily relationship with Him. We go where He goes. We listen for His voice and learn to recognize His leading. We study the Bible to know what He has done for us and what He wants to do in and through us.
