Hope was Daniel’s unmistakable source of his incredible confidence and courage. Today the word “hope” means something so significantly different than what it meant in the context of Daniel’s story. The watered down definition of today – a wish or visualization that everything is going to be okay – is often susceptible to the many “hope killers” that keep our focus elsewhere rather than on Jesus. Without genuine hope, we will never be able to receive the courage, credibility, and perspective that we need to thrive in the modern-day chaos.
