Who Fooled You?

Have you ever been fooled by someone? I have and it doesn’t feel good. It’s embarrassing and maddening.

Being fooled is what Sunday’s text is about. In Galatians 3:1-14, Paul describes how the Galatian believers had been fooled about several basic doctrines:  The cross, the Holy Spirit, and the law. I hope you’ll take some time before Sunday to read and ponder that passage. It’s pertinent to our day, age, and culture.

It’s helpful to know that when Paul calls the Galatians “foolish” he is using a Greek word that suggests they weren’t thinking things through and, as a result, had been bewitched by some false teachers.

There’s a warning here.  When we lack understanding in God’s Word and fail to think things through biblically, we are susceptible to deceptive teaching and false doctrine.

I hope you can join us on Sunday as we continue our study of Galatians and as we gather to worship the Lord who forgives us at the cross, who fills us with His Spirit, and who has freed us from the curse of the law.

With appreciation for all He’s done,
