The Miracle of the Method

God’s methods transcend human understanding, as seen in Romans 11:33.

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

At Christmas, God chose humble means: Bethlehem, a small town; Mary and Joseph, poor and unremarkable; and Jesus, born as a helpless baby in a stable. These choices display His power to use the ordinary for extraordinary purposes.

God’s methods also transform and include us. Mary and Joseph grew through their trials, and the greatest miracles often happen within us – restored relationships, deepened faith, and transformed lives.

As 1 Corinthians 1:26–29 shows, God uses ordinary people for His extraordinary plans. He’s not looking for perfection, only willing hearts ready to say, “Here I am, Lord. Use me.”
