“The Valley of Waiting”

February 6, 2026

As we prepare our hearts for worship this Sunday, I want to invite you to reflect on a powerful passage from 2 Kings 3:9-20 and the message titled “The Valley of Waiting.”

Waiting seasons can feel dry, uncertain, and exhausting.  In this passage, three kings find themselves in a actual valley – out of water, out of options, and at the end of themselves.  One king panics, while another asks the question that changes: “Is there a word from the Lord?”

What unfolds next reminds us that God often speaks in the waiting, calls us to obedience before we see results, and fills what has been prepared in faith – sometimes quietly, but always faithfully.

As you look toward Sunday, prayerfully consider:
  • Where am I currently experiencing a season of waiting?
  • What steps of obedience might God be asking me to take while I wait?
  • What “ditch” might He be calling me to dig in faith before I see the rain?

Come this Sunday with an open heart – ready to listen, trust, and make room for what God desires to do.

I'm looking forward to worshiping together.

Grace and peace,

pastor jamie
