“The Truth About Who We Are”

I’m so looking forward to Sunday and the opportunity I’ll have to teach out of Psalm 8. I do hope you’ll read that short psalm several times before you get to church.

Psalm 8 asks one of life’s oldest and most important questions: “What is man?” In other words, Who am I? That question still echoes in our world today. People of all ages struggle with identity, searching for meaning, worth, and purpose. The way we answer that question shapes everything—our decisions, our relationships, our view of God and ourselves. As pastor Martin Lloyd-Jones once said, “Our greatest need is to become who we already are in Christ.”

Before we teach people to do things as Christians—like reading the Bible or going to church—we must first help them understand who they are in Jesus, and Psalm 8 gives us that foundation.

Psalm 8 tells us we are cared for by God, and that gives us security. Psalm 8 tells us belong to God, and that gives us significance. And only when we embrace who we are in Him, do we find and live out our true purpose: to be warriors, to be workers, and to be worshippers.

I hope you will join us this Sunday as we dive into the wonders of Psalm 8.

Resting in Him,

pastor jamie
